OKAY, this is getting a little ridiculous!!! Another day of rain 😦 I woke-up, looked out the window and thought I might start building that ark 🙂
I’ll be blunt… The weather was $hit today.
Todays walk was just 14 miles, but it rained 4 of the 5 hours I hiked. Because of the conditions, I didn’t get a lot of shots.
Julie Andrews… You Don’t Know Jack!
For all these years Julie Andrews taught me that the rain in Spain… and I ain’t in the plains.
(Historical reference for the younger ones 🙂 )
OKAY, enough complaining and on to the photos.
Here is the start of the day… A very pleasant day… NOT 🙂
All roads lead to the Camino. Actually the Camino is on the left side.
There were several places where the road was a complete mud pit and the only option was to walk through it.
When I reached Santo Domingo I ended up getting a hotel for the night. When I got to my room, I was surprised to find a proper, full-sized bathtub!!!!!
I immediately filled it with hot water and soaked in the tub for 20 minutes… it was AWESOME!!!!
After that, it was time to do something really exciting… wash the clothes. Man, do I live an exciting life 🙂
After doing the laundry, I went to bed at 8:30pm. The cold and the rain seem to take a lot out of me.
Today’s Thoughts
- It’s hard to believe that I’m ~27% done with the Camino.
- It’s nice to stay in a hotel, but I also miss the comradery of the other pilgrims.
- Even though the weather was crappy, most of the pilgrims are still in good spirits (including me!)
Cheers,
-jj
Not Julie Andrews singing “The Rain in Spain” …… It’s Audrey Hepburn!! Duh! That’s OK, the younger readers wouldn’t know the difference. Miss you honey!
