WOW (not the airline 🙂 ) it is amazing what 8 hours of sleep can do for you!!!
I woke-up, grabbed some breakfast and took a shuttle from Biarritz to St Jean which about 45 minutes. There were 5 other pilgrims in the shuttle:
Once I got to St. Jean I headed to the Pilgrim’s Office to pick-up my Camino Passport and to get information. Here is the office:
After getting my passport, I checked into my hotel which was just down the street from the Pilgrim’s Office (it is the green & white sign on the left) Also, this street is the official Camino trail…
I’m Terrified to Sleep In My Room!!!
Here is my room:
It is a very ice room. I like that I have 2 beds! What you don’t see is the picture hanging over my bed…
I think I will have nightmares 🙂
A Walk Around St. Jean
St. Jean is a lovely little town. Here are a few shots:
There is a nice church in the town:
The Flower Section
We had a little rain shower that lasted about 20 minutes and the sun returned soon after the rain stopped. There were lots of flowers in bloom:
The Shoe Section
This was a shop that made shoes. You can see the leather sewing machine in the background:
You know that 10’s of thousands of people walk the Camino every year. I was thinking that I would try something a little different… a little out of the ordinary and seriously considered buying a pair of these bad boys to hike the Camino. Unfortunately, they didn’t have my size… bummer 🙂
The Tree Section
Some cool trees in the area:
A few more shots:
This is just creepy 🙂 What all the fashionable pilgrims are wearing today.
Today was a good day to stretch my legs and explore St Jean. I grabbed an early dinner and plan to go to bed around 10pm… jet lag is kicking in & I’m running out of fuel.
